Trading Post Mechanics

  • 5% listing fee charged upfront when you post a sell order — non-refundable if you cancel.
  • 10% exchange fee deducted from proceeds when an item sells. Effective margin: 85%.
  • Buy orders let you set the price you're willing to pay — items fill from lowest ask.
  • Flip score factors in the full 15% fee — Profit after fees is what you actually pocket.

About the GW2 Trading Post

How AuricDB scores Trading Post flips

The Flip Finder above scores every tradeable item by the buy/sell spread, after the 15% combined fee, weighted by trading velocity. Items with under 50 sales per day are filtered out — micro-margins on illiquid markets aren't worth the listing fee risk. Mystic Coins, Ectoplasm, and crafting reagents dominate the top of the leaderboard most of the time.

Instant-sell vs listing

When viewing any item, you'll see two prices: the highest buy order (what you get for an instant sell) and the lowest sell listing (what a buyer pays now). The difference between these two — minus the 15% fee — is the maximum theoretical flip profit. AuricDB's price chart shows both lines so you can see how the spread evolves intra-day.
